2024 this still works.. I have a 2003 ford explorer sport with the premium pioneer 6 disc with factory amp and sub… I bought the wrong pig tail so I pulled out the pins with the wires and rearrange the orientation work great!

It's because it only takes 5 volts instead of 12-volt buddy

you should really splice in a stepdown to the proper voltage for the subwoofer or youll blow the factory amp!

im having an issue where my teal and purple wire even if its connected to the 12 v switch wire doesnt get power unless i also connect the 12v constant to the 12v switch can someone please explain this to me

Works perfect in my 05 Expedition thanks man!🤙🤙🤙 Black ground wire made no difference though as I believe the amp gets ground from chassis in back.🤷‍♂️

Leaving a comment for those who were confused at first like I was. The Light Blue and red wire went to my white RCA that I had splice together and my Orange and brown went to my red RCA that was also spliced with separate connectors. I then bought a 2 female to 1 male RCA cable for $5 and connect it to my aftermarket double din. I plugged my red and black wire to my ignition 12v power. Finally for some reason the signal would be muted if the shield (outer ring) of RCA touched my adapter. Simply bent these back so the shield wouldn’t touch and the signal would be sent. I will say even with my aftermarket head unit it has distortion quite low in volume but sounds good for a stock sub from a 2003 ford explorer. Easy little project to bridge my door speakers to my huge 15 with some midbass for only $5!

Shit I have 5 wires and there different colors this things been absolutely kicking my ass

I just did hooked up a factory ford sub to an aftermarket radio in a trail blazer, I did it a little differently, LIGHT green/purple (power) wire ran through to the battery, Brownish grey/orange wire I spliced into the negative right rear speaker wire from the radio, red/black wire spliced into the positive right rear speaker wire (this will be high input setup, vs low input for RCA), with the DARK green/purple wire I spliced I into the blue amp turn on cord from the radio, so that when the radio turn on it automatically powers on and off the sub, and with the ground I just attached it to a nice clean piece of metal, works great so far, hopefully this helps someone, I would recommend running your power cord to the battery rather than just the radio, because the radio wire is pretty thin, good luck
